An 18-year-old individual has tragically died in the River Wye while participating in a Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) Award expedition. Authorities confirmed that the body was recovered after a search operation initiated on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation in Glasbury, Powys, at approximately 6:30 PM BST on Tuesday, following reports that a "male had entered the water and could not be located." A comprehensive search involving multiple agencies ensued.

Dyfed-Powys Police coordinated the search efforts, which included mountain rescue volunteers, firefighters, and the National Police Air Service. Following the recovery, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award organization issued a statement expressing condolences.
