Authorities reported that the aircraft went down off Mill Lane in High Ongar at approximately 12:30 BST on Tuesday. The flight originated from North Weald Airfield. Detective Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin stated that the flight was anticipated to be a short journey.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has labeled the event an "accident" and confirmed that their inspectors are actively conducting inquiries into the circumstances.
